Biography

John Ingham is an award-winning Environment journalist who over the years has also covered subjects as diverse as Sport, News, Defence, Foreign Affairs, Politics and Transport.  For many years he was also a weekly columnist on the Daily Express, writing about nature in “Ingham’s World”.

His awards include Energy and Environment Journalist of the Year at Press Gazette’s British Journalism Awards in 2021. He also won the British Trust for Ornithology’s Dilys Breese Medal in 2013. 

Away from work his interests include birdwatching, football, cricket, history and travel. He is also very fond of beer and wine.

He has a PhD in History from Durham University and studied at universities in the USA and Canada, living in Ohio, Washington, DC and Ottawa.

He lives with his wife and two dogs in Surrey.
